Board of Directors



Mr Johnson is an Attorney-at-law of over twenty (20) years. He is the founder of the firm Johnson & Company Attorneys-at-law. He has extensive experience and expertise in the areas of commercial law, civil litigation, family law, criminal law, conveyancing and legal opinion writing inter alia. He has served in such capacities as Crown Counsel in the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions and Clerk of the Courts in the St. James Parish Court. Mr Johnson was a former President of the Montego Co-operative Credit Union and currently serves as the President of Gateway Co-operative Credit Union. He also serves as the President of the Cornwall Bar Association. He holds a Bachelors of Law degree from the University of the West Indies and a certificate of Legal Education from the Norman Manley Law School. Mr Johnson also obtained training at the University of Technology Jamaica as a Real Estate Salesman and Real Estate Dealer.



Mrs Messam is the Chief Financial Officer of the RJRGleaner Communications Group. She is also the President of the Broadcast and Allied Co-operative Credit Union. She is the Treasurer of the Media Association of Jamaica and a Director of the Credit Union Fund Management Company Limited. Mrs Messam is a Fellow in the Association of Chartered and Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica (ICAJ). Her areas of expertise include strategic planning, revenue generation, business development, auditing, financial reporting and financial controlling.



Mr Grant has been serving on the Board of JCCUL since May 2014 and is the 2nd Vice Chairman of First Heritage Credit Union. He previously served as Secretary and Vice President of the former GSB Credit Union, now First Heritage Co-operative Credit Union. Mr Grant is a financial analyst in the public service sector and has been in accounting and auditing for 25 years. He is the President of the Jamaica Civil Service Association (JCSA). He holds an Executive MBA and a post-graduate diploma in General Management as well as training in Legal administration.



Mr Gilbert is the President of PWD Co-operative Credit Union and has served on its Board since 2001. He is also the Senior Director of Finance and Accounts at the Department of Correctional Services and a part-time lecturer at Northern Caribbean University. He holds a Master of Science degree in Accounting and a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration.



Mr Smith joined the JCCUL’s board in 2015 but has served on the JTA Credit Union’s board since 1994. He has a Master of Arts degree in History and Economics from the University of the West Indies, a Post-graduate Diploma in teaching from the University of the West Indies, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Education from the University of Alberta, Canada and a B.A (Hons.).



Mr Hamilton is the President of Grace Co-operative Credit Union. He is also the Credit/Customer Service Manager at Grace Foods & Services. He has to his credit an Executive MBA degree and a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Studies.



Mrs Cuthbert has held Executive and Senior positions in Agriculture, Banking and Credit Unions. She is the President of NCB Employees Co-operative Credit Union.  She is also the Chief Executive Officer of the Jamaica Employers’ Federation. Mrs Cuthbert has a Masters in Business Administration from NOVA Southeastern University and has successfully completed the Securities and Advanced Securities and Advances Securities Courses at the Jamaican Institute of Management. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of the West Indies where she was the first female Jamaican graduate.



Mr. Fletcher is the Immediate Past President of the Jamaica Co-operative Credit Union League Board of Directors. He is the President of the Caribbean Confederation of Credit Unions (CCCU). Mr. Fletcher has a thirty year record of accomplishments in Strategic Leadership and Operational Management that traverses the disciplines of engineering, manufacturing, and education and training. He is employed as Director, Employment and Career Services of HEART Trust/ NTA. He holds certification in engineering and management sciences with a Full Technological Certificate in Electrical Engineering from the University of Technology Jamaica (UTECH), an MBA in International Business Management and a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Management Studies both from the University of the West Indies.



Mrs Anglin has volunteered on the Board of JCCUL since 2005 and served as Assistant Secretary, 2nd vice president before assuming her current position. She is the Past President of COK Sodality Co-operative Credit Union and has served in various capacities on that Board since 1995. Mrs Anglin lecturer and entrepreneur.  She holds an MBA and a BSC degree in Commerce with a focus on Marketing.



Lieutenant Colonel Michael Anglin is a decorated member of the Jamaica Defence Force, having received the First Bar and Medal of Honour for Meritorious Service; First and Second Bars and Medal of Honour for Long Service and Good Conduct; Medal of Honour for General Service, and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal. He is the senior staff officer at the JDF Headquarters. He has been offering himself as a volunteer with JDF Co-operative Credit Union since 1998 and has been serving on the Board of Directors since 2000, holding the offices of Board Secretary, Vice President and President. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Resource Management, a diploma in Supervisory Management Studies and certificates in Paralegal Training, Media Relations, Supervisory Management and Training Technique. He is currently serving as the President of JDF Co-operative Credit Union.



Mr Blackwood has been a Director on the League’s Board since May 2014. He had his early beginnings in the Credit Union Movement as a past student of the NUCS Co-operative College. Mr Blackwood is the General Manager of Portland Co-operative  Credit Union and the President of the Jamaican Association of Co-operative Credit Union Managers (JACCUM). He holds a MBA, a B.Sc. in Professional Management, a Certificate in Co-operative Development and Management and a Teacher’s College Diploma.



Mr Muir is the President of the Lascelles Employees & Partners Co-operative Credit Union and previously served in various positions including Vice President and Treasurer. He has been a Director on the League’s board since 2017 and is also a JCCUL Sponsor Trustee of the Jamaica Credit Union Pension Fund.  He is a multi-skilled professional with over 30 years’ experience in the FMGG industry specializing in Accounting and Accounting Systems and IT applications working in a multi-cultural and global environment. He served as Global IT Applications Maintenance Manager and Regional IT Applications Maintenance Manager at Campari. He also served in numerous positions at J. Wray & Nephew Limited including Financial Systems Manager and Cost Accountant – J Wray & Nephew Limited for over 12 years. He holds a MBA in Banking and Finance from the Mona School of Business, Level II certification from ACCA and a Bachelor’s in Accounting from the University of the West Indies Mona.



Mr Bourne is the President of Manchester Co-operative Credit Union.  He has over 20 years’ experience in the field of education and has taught at several institutions including Knox College, Knox Community College, Management Institute of National Development and Church Teachers’ College.  He is currently the Principal of Knox College and also serves as a member of the executive of the Jamaica Association of Principals of Secondary Schools; and Chairman of the Education Commission of the United Church in Jamaica and the Cayman Islands. Mr Bourne has a Diploma in Education, undergraduate qualifications in Mathematics, Accounting and Financial Management, a Master’s Degree in Education and is currently pursuing a Doctoral Degree in Education Leadership.



Mr Donaldson is an entrepreneur and business consultant with over 18 years’ experience in the areas of management consulting, strategic planning, financial management, sales and project management.  He has held several positions including Manager of the Cable & Wireless Jamaica Pension Plan, Finance & Decision Support Manager at Red Stripe Jamaica, Strategy Planning Manager, Project Manager and Business Development Officer at JMMB Ltd.  He holds a MSc. in Economics, MBA in Finance and a BSc in Economics.  Mr Donaldson has served in several capacities at C&WJ Co-operative Credit Union including Assistant Treasurer, member of the Credit Committee, ERM Committee and Asset Management & Liability Committee.




Mr Stephenson is Executive Director at Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) and previously served as Deputy Director at the Overseas Examinations Office.  He held several positions at St. George’s College including Grade Supervisor, Dean of Discipline, Dean of Students, Vice Principal and Principal.  He is currently the Secretary of EduCom Co-operative Credit Union. Mr Stephenson completed his studies in Double Option Science at The Mico College (now Mico University College) and holds a Master’s Degree in Secondary School Supervision and Administration at Boston College University in Massachusetts and Diplomas in Human Resources Development and Management Studies.
