Jamaica Police Co-operative Credit Union Limited (JPCCU) was founded July 4th, 1955 by 11 rank and file members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force with each contributing one (1) shilling (equivalent of ten cents today).
It was established with the specific mandate to encourage collective savings and to provide loans to the members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force.
JPCCU is a member of the Jamaica Co-operative Credit Union League, the trade association representing the interests of Credit Unions in Jamaica

The Jamaica Co-operative Credit Union League (JCCUL, a co-operative central body embracing all the Credit Unions in the island, was conceptualized in July 1942 at the 2nd Convention of Credit Unions calling for the formation of a League. JCCUL’s constitution was adopted on February 22, 1943 and five (5) Credit Unions were registered as members.
