HR Business Partner
The Jamaica Co-operative Credit Union League is seeking an experienced HR professional with strong business acumen and a passion for delivering effective people solutions. The successful candidate will provide strategic and operational HR support aimed at strengthening employee engagement, enhancing organisational performance, and contributing to a positive employee experience.
The HR Business Partner reports to the Group Human Resource Development and Administration Manager and is responsible for delivering comprehensive human resource services to designated business unit(s).
The role supports the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment and selection, onboarding, performance management, learning and development, compensation and benefits administration, employee and industrial relations, employee engagement, payroll support, and compliance with organisational policies, employment legislation, and HR best practices.
The HR Business Partner will be responsible for:
- Building partnerships with management and employees across business unit(s) to deliver value-added HR services, advice, and people-focused solutions.
- Supporting workforce planning, recruitment, and onboarding initiatives to meet staffing needs, ensuring the acquisition of high-performing talent with the skills, experience, and cultural fit required to support business objectives.
- Leading the performance management process for assigned business units by partnering with managers and employees to identify and address performance gaps, implement corrective and developmental interventions, and monitor the execution of Individual Development Plans (IDPs) and
approved training plans to support employee growth and organisational performance. - Supporting compensation reviews, job evaluation exercises, and the administration of employee benefits, ensuring internal equity, market competitiveness, and compliance with organizational policies and relevant regulations.
- Leading the monthly payroll activities for assigned business unit(s), ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing in full compliance with organisational policies, statutory requirements, and other applicable employment labour laws.
- Supporting industrial relations processes and contributing to the review and development of HR policies and procedures to promote positive employee relations, ensure legal and organizational compliance, and enhance organisational performance.
- Supporting employee engagement initiatives for assigned business unit(s), by partnering with managers and employees to enhance communication, strengthen morale, encourage participation, and improve the overall employee experience.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management or equivalent qualification.
- Five (5) years’ progressive experience in a similar Human Resource position.
- Professional certification in Human Resource Management and Coaching skills would be an asset.
Knowledge, Skills, Competences, and Personal Attributes:
- Ability to interpret and apply relevant laws, regulations, policies, and guidelines, with strong knowledge of Industrial Relations Laws and HR practices.
- Sound knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including recruitment, performance management, compensation, payroll, welfare, and benefits.
- Sound business acumen, change management, analytical, judgment, problem-solving, and project management capabilities.
- Ability to analyze data trends and metrics to inform decision-making.
- Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, supervisory, customer service, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrate a high level of confidentiality, professionalism, and objectivity in handling employee and organizational matters.

- Some travelling required
- Must own and operate a reliable motor vehicle and possess a valid driver’s licence
